Konya

Konya was the capital of the Seljuk state and the city of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi. The Mevlana Museum, Seljuk madrasas, UNESCO-listed Çatalhöyük and the Eşrefoğlu Mosque in Beyşehir are its highlights. The Şeb-i Arus ceremonies are held every December.

When to go

Spring and autumn are the best seasons. The Şeb-i Arus ceremonies are held from 7 to 17 December; summers are hot and dry.
