In the Malkara market, one of the oldest mosques the Ottomans built in Rumelia.

Built in 1488, the square, single-domed mosque is made of cut stone. In its courtyard stands the tomb, bearing an inscription dated 1502, of Gazi Ömer Bey, a commander from the reign of Fatih Sultan Mehmed. Following restoration, both the mosque and the tomb are open for worship and visits.
