Vize's castle, dating to the Byzantine period, with an inner and outer fortification.

The castle's first construction dates to the Roman period, while the surviving sections are largely from repairs carried out under Emperor Justinian I in the 6th century. Built of large cut stones, its walls form an inner and outer fortification enclosing the north and west of the town.
