Sultanbeyli

Sultanbeyli, on İstanbul's Asian side, is bordered by Kartal, Pendik and Sancaktepe. The area was conquered in 1328 by an Ottoman force under Orhan Gazi and still preserves the ruins of Aydos Castle; the settlement became a village in 1957, a town in 1989 and a district in 1992.
