Esenler

Esenler, on İstanbul's European side, is surrounded by Sultangazi, Gaziosmanpaşa, Bayrampaşa, Zeytinburnu, Bağcılar, Başakşehir and Güngören, and became a district in 1993. Once known as Litros and Avas, the area holds historic structures such as the Byzantine-era Atışalanı aqueduct and the Davutpaşa Barracks.
