Antakya, built over ancient Antioch, is a historic city home to the Church of St Peter, considered one of the first churches of Christianity, and to a rich mosaic collection. Its cuisine carries Hatay's fame. The district was affected by the 2023 earthquakes and some buildings may be under repair.
