Çayıralan lies in Yozgat, near the Kayseri and Sivas provincial borders, surrounded by the districts of Sarıkaya, Çandır and Akdağmadeni. The 1530 tomb of Çerkez İsa Bey, from the Dulkadiroğulları period, is in the district, along with the Yahyasaray and İğdecik dams and forested land.
