Marmaraereğlisi

Marmaraereğlisi stands on the site of ancient Perinthos, founded by settlers from Samos in the 6th century BC and later the capital of the Roman province of Thrace. The ancient city, with its acropolis, lower town, city-wall remains and theatre, sits alongside the district's beaches on the Sea of Marmara.
