The Buruciye Madrasa was built in 1271 by the Seljuk scholar Muzaffer Burucerdi to teach physics, chemistry and astronomy. With its decorated portal and classical courtyard madrasa plan, it stands among the Seljuk buildings of central Sivas, alongside the Gök and Çifte Minareli madrasas.
