Soğmatar is a cult centre dated to the 2nd century CE, in the Tektek Mountains about 53 km south-east of Harran. In this area, where the people of Harran worshipped moon and planet gods under the Kingdom of Abgar, visitors can see the Pognon Cave dedicated to the moon god Sin, the Sacred Hill with reliefs of gods, six monumental tombs (mausolea) and numerous rock-cut tombs.
