Tarsus Waterfall lies on the Berdan River within the town of Tarsus. Its riverbed was diverted during the reign of the Byzantine Emperor Justinian (AD 527-565) to protect the city from flooding, and the waterfall formed as a result. Pouring over conglomerate rock, it reaches its strongest flow in winter and spring as snow melts, and a Roman-era necropolis lies alongside it.
