The Şehidiye Madrasa is believed to have been built in the early 13th century by the Artuqid sultan Melik Nasreddin Artuk Aslan, with an iwan and a porticoed courtyard. Its mosque section has undergone many changes over time, and its collapsed minaret was rebuilt in 1916-17.
