Built in 1314 by the Germiyan bey Umur bin Savcı and also known as the Vacidiye Medrese, this cut-stone building has served as the Kütahya Archaeology Museum since 1965. Its displays span periods from the Palaeolithic to the Ottoman era; among its most important pieces is the Amazons Sarcophagus, found in a rescue excavation at Çavdarhisar-Aizanoi, whose high reliefs depict battles between the Greeks and the Amazons.
