Begun in the early 1560s and completed in 1569 by Mimar Sinan at the request of Grand Vizier Sokullu Mehmed Pasha, the complex includes a mosque, a madrasa, a soup kitchen, a caravanserai and a double bathhouse. It was one of the important stopping and trading points in Ottoman Rumelia, and it has largely shaped Lüleburgaz's present-day townscape.
