İnebolu is a coastal district known for its four-storey timber houses from the 18th and 19th centuries, painted in red ochre; the houses are on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List. The İnebolu Türk Ocağı building is also historic as the place where the Hat Reform was announced in 1925.
