Beycesultan Mound, rising in the middle of the plain southwest of central Çivril, contains 40 cultural layers from the Late Chalcolithic to the Late Bronze Age. After excavations in 1954-1959, digging resumed in 2007 under Ege University, and finds from a 4,000-year-old textile workshop have also been uncovered at the mound.
