The national park, covering Mount Kazdağı where it rises between the Aegean and Marmara in Edremit district, was established in 1993. Şahinderesi Canyon, Sarıkız Hill, the Pınarbaşı and Hasanboğuldu picnic areas and the Sütüveren Waterfall are its main visiting points. The area is home to rare plant species including the endemic Kazdağı fir.
