Yenipazar is a small district 8 km inland from the İzmir-Denizli highway, which split from Bozdoğan to become its own district in 1957. Its name, according to 17th-century traveller Evliya Çelebi, comes from a 'new market place' where locals sold their goods. It has held Cittaslow (slow city) status since 2011 and is known for Yenipazar pide.
