Posof, in northern Ardahan on the border between the Eastern Anatolia and Black Sea regions, neighbours Georgia, with the Türkgözü border crossing within its boundaries. Considered the genetic centre of the Caucasian bee breed, the district relies heavily on beekeeping, and the Urama and Suskap plateaus and the Kveli and Çaki castles are places to see.
