Yenimahalle is one of Ankara's large, mainly residential districts, founded in 1957. The Atatürk Forest Farm and the Ankara Zoo within it are the district's best-known green space, and Akköprü, a Byzantine-era bridge over the Ankara River, is a historic landmark here.
