The remains of a bathhouse on a mound with Phrygian, Roman and Byzantine layers.

Standing on a mound on Çankırı Street in Ulus, the Roman Baths were uncovered in excavations between 1938 and 1943; coins found at the site suggest it was built under Caracalla (AD 212-217). It consists of two parts, a palaestra (exercise ground) and an enclosed bath section. The excavations also revealed Phrygian, Roman, Byzantine and, in places, Seljuk and Ottoman traces.
