Gümüşhacıköy is Amasya's westernmost district, with Merzifon to its east, Çorum province to the south and west, and Samsun province to the north. Its historic bedesten, an important Silk Road trading centre in Ottoman times, and the Köprülü Mehmet Paşa Mosque, rebuilt in 1948, are its highlights.
